Cerebral Palsy Targeting SolutionsÂ
Cerebral Palsy (CP) is a group of disorders that disrupt a person’s ability to move, balance, and maintain posture. The most common motor disability in children is Cerebral Palsy.
Being Cerebral means having a connection to the brain. Palsy is a term used to describe movement issues or muscular weakness. CP is caused by abnormal brain development or brain damage that reduces a person’s ability to control his or her muscles.
Cerebral Palsy symptoms differ from person to person. Some persons with CP may have difficulty walking and require specific assistance, such as crutches or wheelchairs. Others may struggle with tasks such as writing or using scissors. Some people with CP may also have additional medical issues, such as intellectual difficulties or visual, hearing, or speech problems.
CP can come in four different forms:
- Spastic Cerebral Palsy – About 80% of all cases of CP fall within this category, making it the most frequent form. Increased muscular tone in those with spastic CP causes stiffness and difficulties moving.
- Â Dyskinetic Cerebral Palsy – People with dyskinetic cerebral palsy, often referred to as athetoid cerebral palsy, have difficulty regulating their hands, arms, feet, and legs, making it challenging for them to sit and walk. The unrestrained movements can be quick and fast or sluggish and writhing.
- Ataxic Cerebral Palsy – The least typical form of CP is this one. People with ataxic CP may walk clumsily and have balance and coordination issues.
- Mixed Cerebral Palsy – Some persons exhibit signs of multiple types of CP. The most typical combination is spastic-dyskinetic CP.
Cerebral Palsy has no cure, however, treatment can enhance the lives of those who have it. Therapy, medications, and, in certain cases, surgery can help patients control their symptoms and gain independence. The individual’s demands and challenges will determine the specific treatments used. The goal of treatment is to assist the patient in becoming as independent as possible.
We all know that people research their or their child’s symptoms and research medical conditions online prior to attending medical appointments. Looking for prevention, treatments, alternative therapies, medications, ways to manage symptoms and the future prognosis are just some of the frequently searched terms. This advertising is ideal for companies such as pharmaceutical companies, alternative therapies and healthcare providers looking to reach individuals who have Cerebral Palsy.
